Small repairs can be completed during one visit. But large repairs, popcorn ceiling repair, water damage repair, and multi-room repairs will require additional visits since the compound will have to dry out.
A lot of patches will match well once they are sanded, primed, and painted. But old texture, bright light, or old paint might make a perfect match more difficult.
